What an interesting question you have right there! Well, for me, I think that might depend on what makes you say and think that you already lived a good life. For you, what makes you think you lived a good life?
Hey Lui! I was wondering, have you ever felt that eudaimonia in your life? That feeling of living a good life!
Well, it's just so simple for me! I feel like I lived a good life whenever I get to help other people even in the simplest way I can. Let me share this experience I had yesterday that made me feel that eudaimonia as we walk back to our classroom.
I have! You know, our journey through life will never be easy and all of us will definitely go through some rough and tough times. But why do you think we still feel like we lived a good life?
Flashback
So yesterday, while I was on my way home, I saw this stray cat lying on the ground outside our house in a cold rainy day. I felt bad for him and I wanted to take him with me at home but I recalled that my parents don't like pets at home. It was quite a difficult decision that I had to make but I still decided to take him with me. I knew my parents would get mad at me but I think that risking something could also bring good to someone else. So by then, I decided to take that risk and promised my parents to adopt and take good care of the cat. I knew it would add up to my responsibilities but I don't think of it as a burden. I know that this would still make me happy even if it requires me to exert more effort and energy. That simple thing made me feel fulfilled and flourished. It made me feel like I lived a good life.
Such a great story you have, Lui! That's so inspiring to hear!
Hmm? A good life for me is just as simple as being here, going to school, learning something new, and talking to you right now. Having the opportunity to achieve simple things everyday is already a good life for me.
Thanks, Anmie! That's how I achieve my own eudaimonia. How about you? Would you mind sharing it with me?
