- The house is beautiful, with a large backyard, spacing on the sides for gardening. Also, I will have my own room with big closet every teenage girl's dream.
- The remaining of the summer I stayed with my mother. My stepfather bought a playground set, and my stepsisters and I were there every days. Pennsylvania is nice, very quiet compared to living in Brooklyn.
- After dinner one evening, I spoke with my mother about how I felt. I told her that am truly grateful for everything she has done for me but I have decided to stay with my father.
- No matter how sad this moment was, I knew my mother would respect the decision I made, she also told me something I never new about her.
- As we hugged, she mentioned that growing up she had no say in anything. She was only to do as her father said and if she dared questioned him or refused she would have to deal with the consequences.
- She promised herself at a young age she will always take her children's opinions into consideration, especially if it's something about themselves. Children have a voice for a reason and it must be heard.
