- Jenny was nineteen years old when she got her dog, Lucky. Jenny loved spending time with Lucky and would rush home from class to see him. She would take him on long walks, play with him at the dog park on the weekends, and take him on car rides almost every time she had to leave the house. Jenny appreciated all the happiness that Lucky brought her over the years, as simple as his company may have seemed.
- One day, when Jenny returned home from school, she found that Lucky had run away. She looked all over town for him, but alas, he was nowhere to be found. Shocked and devastated, Jenny found herself wondering why something so loved, cherished, and cared for would ever leave. Jenny couldn't help but ponder the question every day and felt Lucky's absence very heavily.
- Time went by and Jenny never stopped thinking about her beloved dog. However, she found that as the months passed, her memories of Lucky no longer brought her sadness, but a gratitude for the time she got to spend with Lucky. She may never understand why Lucky ran away but seeing other dogs around town made her smile at the thought of her own.
