- In 1978, a massive crackdown occurred called Operation Dragon King, when 200,000 Rohingya were forced to flee out of Myanmar to Bangladesh. The military reportedly used violence and rape to drive them out. Then, unfortunately, about a hundred and seventy thousand Rohingya reportedly returned to Burma.
- Right, and aren't they living here illegally? They should definitely be kicked out.
- Today, we will pass the Citizenship Act recognizing 135 ethnic groups. The Rohingya, with a population of about 1 million, will not be on the list and become stateless people.
- In 2016, the Rohingya attacked some police and military posts. In retaliation, the Myanmar military launched a massive ethnic cleansing operation against the Rohingya.
- Though many have gotten injured and died throughout these series of events, many were and still are continuing to migrate to better places to live in (Bangladesh).
