- The lord brings Christopher Sly home. As a joke he tell sly to dress up as him and he dresses up as a slave, and tells a pageboy to pretend to be Sly's wife.
- Lucentio secretly falls in love with Bianca, but her says that her sister is to be married first, Lucentio plans to disguise himself as Bianca's tutor to woo her while her two suitors look for a man for Kathrine. Hortensio convinces his friend to marry Kathrine for her money, while he diguises himself as a school master.
- Baptista accepts the disguises Hortensio and Lucentio as tutors and well as the marriage proposal form Petruchio. Petruchio and Kathrine have a verbal duel and when he plans to get married on Sunday, Kathrine doesn't resist, and Baptista promises that Bianca to Tranio.
- Lucentio and Hortensio each tutor Bianca and try to woo her. Lucentio is more playful and confident while Hortensio is more desperate and pathetic. At Petruchio's wedding he does something embarrassing and whisks Kate off against her will. Lucentio and Tranio believe that it would be easier for them to elope with Bianca rather than find a fake father for Lucentio to fool Baptista
- Petruchio and Kathrine arrive at Petruchio's summer house after a long journey while Tranio tricks Hortensio into giving up on Bianca while also tricking a school master from Mantua into posing as his father. After Petruchio finally allows Kate to eat and a tailor presents elegant cloths for her for their journey to Baptista. The fake Vincentio convinces Baptists that he is the father of Lucentio
- The real Vincentio runs into the meeting between Baptista and the fake Vincentio, confusing everyone until the real Lucentio returns from his marriage to Bianca, and is forced to explain to the crowd the whole thing. During the banquet to celebrate the marriage of the three couples the men tease Petruchio of marrying a shrew.
