- Her husband brought her a invitation to a ball, but soon realized that she had nothing to wear. Mathilde soon went to the store to get a new dress.
- Oh hey, I have gotten you an invitation to the ball.
- OH! I'm going to have to buy a dress... The on I have now is dreadful!
- After buying her dress, Mathilde went to her friend to borrow a necklace that will go with her dress. She sees a diamond necklace and fell in love with it.
- I have just gotten a dress for this ball, but is it okay if I borrow that necklace?
- Oh yes, you can borrow this. Just bring it back.
- Soon, she goes to the ball in her beautiful brown dress. The necklace shining in the sunlight. After a while, she starts getting complemented for her outfit.
- Wow, you are so pretty!
- Oh thanks! I am "rich" if i say so myself.
- They drove home in a cab. But once they finally got out of the car, Mathilde suddenly realized that the necklace was gone! They went store to store looking for a replacement.
- OH NO! I HAVE LOST THE NECKLACE!
- It must be in the cab. But we must find an identical one.
- They soon found a store with a replacement to buy. She then gave it to her friend, guilty. They had to start getting money though since she had to by bills and debts. They had ran out of money!
- Here is the diamond necklace!
- Oh wow! This costs a lot. But thank you miss.
- It had been ten years after she had no money. She was getting old now. suddenly she sees her friend in the park. She tells her everything about the necklace. Her friend looks her in the eye, and tells her it was fake.
- Oh Mathilde, the necklace was a fake. It was made of glass...
