- Ji Xingping is the leader of China currently. He rules China as General Secretary of The Communist Party, general secretary of the Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and president of the PRC (People's Republic of China).

- In the USA citizens vote for governors, presidents, and other members in different parts of our government.
- Confederation
- Currently the ruler of North Korea is Kim Jong-un. His role in the country is inherited through his family. He is the General Secretary of the Workers' Party, Chairman of the Central Military Commission, and President of the State Affairs Commission.
- Federal
- The society of Rojava in Syria is an anarchist society. It consists of self-governing subregions which are Afrin, Jazira, Euphrates, etc. Rojava's true name is the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria or AANES.
- During the U.S. Civil War the country split up into two parts. The confederacy and the Union. The confederacy was the southern states that separated from the north because of differing beliefs and laws.
- The US is a federal government because it has subregions, or states that create their own rules but follow the rules of the main government still. Different laws are in different states due to different people ruling different areas.
