- At first glance, I look weird, I look like a flattened basketball, but I help in all kinds of ways. I carry oxygen rich blood to your body's cells that need it through diffusion.
- I live for 120 days and (mostly) made up of hemoglobin, I also makeup 40-45% of your blood and are the most abundant cell in your body!
- Being a white blood cell, I'm naturally bigger than a Red Blood Cell. Although I'm bigger, there fewer of me than RBC, I make up 1% of your blood. I can also be different shapes and colors.
- I fight diseases and warn others if you are being "invaded." Some of us make chemicals to fight off these diseases.
- Imagine you cut your knee from a scrap on the sidewalk. You start to bleed. Eventually it stops because of me, the platelets. I'm a tiny round cell that helps in blood clotting that temporarily stops bleeding. I make up the remaining part of your blood which isn't much
- I'm plasma, a yellowish liquid that is 90% water and 55% of your blood. I'm like a lazy river in your body carrying cell waste to the kidneys.
