  • The Persian Wars was a war with the Greek city-states against Persia. This war was such an important Turning Point because it was the bedrock for practically every historical event that came after and it allowed Greece to gain their freedom.
  • The most important even in the Persian Wars was the Battle of Salamis. This battle gave the Greek a new feeling of confidence. The Greek The Athenians knew the Persians were coming to the city of Athens so they fled. They sent out a false message to the Persians, leading them to believe the Greek was escaping that night and they were trapped and easily defeated. This was a very important event because it gave the Greek a new sense of confidence.

  • The Peloponnesian War was a war with Athens, other city-states, Sparta, and Persia. This war was such an important Turning Point for the advancement of Ancient civilizations and gave Sparta a huge economical advantage in the long run.
  • The most important event in the Peloponnesian War was Athens was trapped in a terrible period of suffering. They were trapped in their walls. The Spartans had attacked them from the outside, cutting off their food supply and burning their crops. On the inside, the Athens were hit with a terrible plague and they were starving.

This was a great Turning Point for Greece as it united the city-states and expanded Greek culture.
  • One of the most important events in Alexander the Great's lifetime was when he conquered many cities with Greek style. He ruled Alexandria with Greek culture, practices, and lifestyle. He also conquered cities all over the Mediterranean, leaving trusted generals to rule them in the Greek style. This allowed him to become the richest man in all history.
