I felt this weird mix of disappointment and anger welling up inside of me/ I don't even know what the feeling was, really, just that there was a lot of it, and I wanted to smack Augustus. (page 20)

In this scene, it shows and explains how Augustus uses the cigarette as a metaphor. It's a metaphor because Augustus explains that the cigarette has no power and he has the power because you need to light the cigarette to give it power.

This scene, just shows Augustus and Hazel riding a car in which Augustus is driving. Hazel threw her perspective describes that he drove "horrifically." This shows that Augustus' cancer does challenge him and it doesn't let him drive as well.

This scene shows a little girl talking to Hazel about what her cannula is, and Hazel explains to her that its tubes that give her oxygen and help her breathe. Later on showing Hazel letting the little girl try on the cannula.
