On the night before Robespierre came into power he wrote that the goal of the revaluation was to use the constitution to benefit the people by giving them freedom, equality, and fraternity.However the reign of terror was the completelydifferent.
Robespierre methods were to frighten people and execute them. For executions he mostly used the guillotine. He took many the rights and freedoms of many people. Many people died for no reason and lived out their lives in fear.
The Reign of Terror finally ends when Robespierre is overthrown and arrested by the National Convention. He was executed on July 28, 1794.
On September 21, 1792 the monarchy was abolished and the first republic was established. With this came the executions of king Louis XVI and queen Marie Antoinette.
Even the popular support Robespierre had turned against him. They became tired of the killings and started to fear their own lives. They turned against him out of fear due to the thousands of deaths that were occurring.
