- The theme I am analyzing is fear can turn humans into monsters. This theme means that if people are scared of something, they will begin to commit unforgivable actions.
- This evidence supports the theme because after charlie mistakenly kills Van Horn, the residents of Maple street turn on him in an instant.
- After charlie accidently shoots Van Horn, not knowing who he was, the residents of maple street turned against him, destroying his house in the process [act II, pg. 14]
- This evidence supports the theme because the residents of Maple Street accused Les Goodman for being an alien due to him outside on his porch at night, and stare at the stars, showing, when fear irrationalizes humans, they blame people who can have problems with something
- ¨YOU ARE ALL SICK PEOPLE!!!¨
- Because Les Goodmanś car started and how he is always awake at night, he is accused of being some sort of alien [Act I, pg. 7-9]
- The residents of maple street accuse Steve for being an alien because of a mysterious radio set he is working on that he is not telling anyone about [pg. 12]
