  • Our government has heard that you were poor and hungry.
  • If you sell some of your land to us we will give you goods and money.

  • The Dakota and the U.S. council are waiting weeks for everyone to officially arrive for the meeting to talk about the treaty.

  • Okay I'm coming with the leaders of the U.S. government.
  • We're meeting in the tent with the other elders
  • The lead of the U.S. council, Ramsey, welcomes the Dakota elders.

  • The council says that the U.S. government has heard that the Dakota were poor and hungry. So they say if they sell some of their land to the U.S. government they will get goods and money.

  • One of the U.S. leaders is talking to Extended Tail Feathers about the meeting about the treaty.
  •  Extended Tail Feathers gives Ramsey letter saying that they want more time to talk to the other elders about the treaty.
