- In 1942, Hana was deported to a concentration camp in Theresienstadt and was separated from her brother. Hana was imprisoned along with other Jewish girls. She was suffering in the concentration camp with insufficient food and lack of freedom. The camp was overcrowded with numerous Jews.
- Everyday, Hana felt lonely and she missed George terribly. Then one day, there was an announcement that the ghetto rules were changing. The girls were permitted to go out once a week for two hours. In excitement, Hana instantly raced to the Boys’ House. There, she met George and they had a joyous reunion!
- "You are allowed to go out for two hours."
- "George!!! How are you?"
- “Hana!!! Are you well? Are you getting enough to eat?”
- Hana's miserable journey ends!!!
- "Mr. Hitler ordered us to deport the girls to Auschwitz."
- After a few weeks, the happiness had to be ended. Adolf Hitler, the wicked dictator, ruled the Nazis to deport the girls to Auschwitz and the boys to Gleiwitz. This was a stunning news for Hana and George!
- "No!!!"
- "You all are getting deported to Gleiwitz!"
- A few days later, Adolf Hitler killed Hana, along with numerous Jews in a gas chamber, at the Auschwitz concentration camp. However, George managed to escape the Gleiwitz subcamp.
- Hana and the other Jews died.
- George does not know that his sister died.
- "Pheww!!! I finally escaped the camp. I hope Hana did too."
