- Ralph found a conch with piggy and used it to call the other boys.
- Piggy
- "I bet you can hear that for miles."

- Boys started coming and Piggy started to ask their names.
- Were Sam and Eric!
- "Johnny"
- "Whats your name?"

- Jack and the other choir boys came.
- There is no adult with the trumpet. Only me.
- "Wheres the man with the trumpet?"
- "We'd better all have names, so im Ralph"
- Ralph, Piggy, and Jack were taling about names when Jack called Piggy a fatty.
- You cant call him that!
- Im Merridew.
- "Shut up fatty."
- "Then, that boy- I forget-"
- Ralph brought up the idea of having cheifs, and Rodger asked for a vote.
- "We need to decide bout being rescued. Semms like we ought to have a cheef to decide things."
- I should be cheif!
- "Lets Hve a vote."
- Ralph finally gets voted as cheif because the majority of the boys chose him.
- "Im cheif then."
- "Him with the shell... Let him be cheif with the trumpet thing!"
