  • 1) I really enjoyed what we learned about in health class today!
  • 2) Same! I didn't realize how much self image, culture, family and economic status really effects my food choices. Gives me a lot to think about when it comes to eating well.
  • 4) Learning about the 6 essential nutrients was also so helpful! Now I know I need to create a regular diet that has Protein, Fat, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals and of course, Water!
  • 3) The 4 principals of eating well was my favorite! Variety, moderation, balance, and wholesomeness all are helpful ways to get out of a food rut and get energy from my diet.
  • 5) And of course don't forget fiber!
  • Reflecting, replacing, and reinforcing our everyday diets is so important! As they say, we are what we eat! And look, we are already on our way to a better future! It may take some work, but planning meals, eating healthy, and avoiding takeout are all part of an effort to improve your overall health! And when you work to improve your health now, you are better set for a happier future! Knowing your calorie intake is another essential way to track your eating habits! And of course, we can't forget physical fitness! At our age, we should be getting 150 minutes a week of moderate physical activity, including two days of muscle strengthening activities.
  • 1) There are so many benefits too! These include: reduces risk of premature death, improved cardiorespiratory functioning, more efficient metabolism, improved body composition, disease prevention/management, improved psychological and emotional wellness, improved immune function, prevention of injuries/low back pain, and improved wellness for life. Improved psychological and emotional wellness can include improved sleep and reduced stress!But sometimes life and other barriers can get in the way! Physical ableness, time, and unrealistic goals can become reasons your physical goals are not met.
  • 2) Lets work on some excersives to get your agility and flexability back on track!

  • 1) The path to exercising can be scary, but there is no need to be! Be sure to choose fun activities and add variety! Exercising does not need to be boring! Sometimes things happen, like bad weather, so be sure to have alternate activities. Wear comfortable and proper exercise clothing in order to be fully prepared. Find a convenient time and place to exercise that best fits you and your busy schedule. There are plenty of ways to keep you focused too! These include using music to entertain yourself or having a friend. And most importantly, don’t overdo it!
  • 2) Can you help us come up with a weight loss plan? We have tried everything doc!
  • 1) Along with physical fitness, weight management ties it all togther together. Knowing when you’vreachedthe limits in excerside and is crucial. Weight should occur in a positive and realistic atmosphere. Being overweight and underweight both come with risk! It is important to be aware of this and work to be physically healthy, but also mentally! A good body image is important, as eating disorders and stress are extremely harmful.
