- Financial problems(dept caused by the French and Indian War. Stamp Act placed a Tax on newspapers other printed materials. Item had to show a stamp proving the tax was paid. Colonists were angry because they were not part of the decision. Colonists boycotted British goods.
- Stopped colonists from moving west of the Appalchion Moutians. Avoid more conflict with the native Americans. Kept colonists where the Britsh interest were. Money 10,000 britsh troops sent to colonists. Colonists saw this as an limit on their freedom to move. The colonists felt cheated because they fought in the war and wanted to have some rewards.
- Taxed goods at the part of entry of important goods like basic items like glass,tea,paper, also even led. Had to import these items because they werent produced in the colonists. So people began to smuggle goods into the colonists. Taxes on glass,paint,oil were applied with the desian of raiseing money such as 40,000 a year for the administration of the colonists.
