- "If that thy bent of love be honorable, / Thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow" (2.2 143-144).
- Romeo has been sad lately so Benvolio talks to him. Benvolio learns that Romeo is sad because he loves a girl named Rosaline and Rosaline does not love him back.
- "And for that offence Immediately we do exile him hence" (3.1 149).
- Romeo sees Juliet for the first time at Capulet's party and instantly falls in love. He walks over and they exchange kisses. At the end of the party, Romeo and Juliet find out that they are enemies.
- "I must needs wake you. Lady, lady, lady!— / Alas, alas! Help, help! My lady’s dead" (4.5 14-15).
- Romeo finds Juliet on her balcony and they talk. They agree to get married. Juliet tells Romeo that she will send a messenger so that Romeo can tell her when and where Romeo and Juliet were to be married.
- "A glooming peace this morning with it brings" (5.3 321).
- After Mercutio dies in a fight with Tybalt, Romeo seeks revenge and kills Tybalt. The Prince then banishes Romeo from Verona.
- Juliet goes to the Friar for a plan so that she will not have to marry Paris. Juliet plans to drink a potion that will make her look dead so that the Capulet household will bury her. She drinks the potion the night before the wedding and the following morning, the Capulet household bury Juliet thinking she is dead.
- Romeo hears that Juliet is dead so he goes to Juliet's tomb and finds her seemingly dead body. In a fight, Romeo kills Paris before killing himself. Juliet wakes up, and kills herself after finding out that Romeo has died. This finally ends the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets.
