- I can hear it all, my senses have been shaped by the disease. My hearing sense has been acuted.
- You may say I am mad, but look with which calm I am telling you the story.
- I had decided to kill the old man.
- I had nothing against the old man. It was his evil vulture eye the one freaking me out.
- His eyes were never opened, so I couldn't achieve my purpose.
- During 7 nights at midnight I went to the old man's house, and tried to enter with all my caution.
- The old man groaned showing his fear and horror.
- The old man's terror must have been extreme, because his heart was beating really loud.
- During the eighth night, while I was about to open the lantern, my thumb slipped upon the tin fastening, and the old man woke up.
- BUM BUM, BUM BUM!
- His beating was getting even louder, and I got surrounded by the fear a neighbor could hear the beating of his heart.
- I decided the old man's time had arrived. I murdered him, following a strategic plan.
- Suddenly I started hearing a ringing in my ears, which was getting louder and louder, but it seemed as I was the only one listening to it. I started to loose control, and I continued to admit what I did, and show where the hideous heart of the old man was.
- When the officers arrived I was pretty confident with my explanation of what had happened, and the officers were satisfied with my manners.
