  • Foreshadowing
  • What was that noise?
  • Inference
  • Motivation
  • I want to see the lanterns
  • Foreshadowing is hinting a later event that will happen. This is an example of foreshadowing because the girl has her back turned awayfrom a monster and hears a noise.
  • Analogy
  • Inference means to make your best guess with the information you have. We can infer that Rapunzel is in danger because of the expression on her face and her father yelling at the lady in a black cloak.
  • Parallel Episodes
  • I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll blow your house down!
  • Motivation is a wish or inspiration that makes people do things. This is an example of motivation because seeing the lanterns is what makes Rapunzel want to escape her tower.
  • Sub-plot
  • An analogy is two different words that are the same or can be usedthe same way. In this scene, Eugene compares Rapunzel's Mom'sfeelings to a grape getting crushed, meaning she would be very upset.
  • When your mom finds out you left, she'll be crushed... like a grape
  • Parallel episodes are repeated situations in the plot. This is an example of parallel episodes because the wolf comes to blow the pig's houses down multiple times.
  • A sub-plot is a second smaller story that has something to do with the bigger plot. Anna and Prince Hans are an example of this because they weren't together a lot during the story but he locked her up so that Elsa's heart would freeze for the happy ending.
