  • The Connecticut Compromise had combined the ideas of the Virginia Plan and the New Jersey Plan. Giving the Legislative Branch an equal ratio of representatives to population, as well as giving each state an equal representation to vote.

  • The Three Branches of Government were created in the Constitutional Convention Between May 25, 1787-September 17, 1887. The Branches created, in order, were the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial. These were created in order to balance power within the US government.

  • In order to ensure that the government would not get too powerful, the Separation of Powers was created. This informs the responsibilities between each branch, and declares their specific purpose.
  • Ratification was the process which had occurredin order to ratify the Constitution. The Constitution went into effect for all parts of the United States when it was ratified, for that was required in order for it to be successful.

  • After the ratification process, The Bill of Rights was passed in order to specifically state the rights of the people living in the United States. These rights were important then, and are still important now and go into effect in everyday life.
