  • Lady Capulet informs Juliet about their plan of marrying her to Paris on Thursday. Juliet outright refuses, saying she can’t marry Paris because she is still mourning the loss of Tybalt. Juliet's reason secretly lies about her marriage to Romeo. Although Juliet is married, her father, Capulet, already promised that Juliet is to be married no matter what.
  • Juliet tells her father she refuses to marry Paris. As a result, Capulet gets furious, saying Juliet must marry Paris. Otherwise, Capulet will disown her and leave her on the streets. Juliet no longer has a choice about marrying Paris, but she is already faithfully married to Romeo, her cousin’s killer. Stressed, Juliet will need to find a way to deal with her situation with Paris while still being with Romeo.
