  • Ohio River Valley Argument
  • Franklin's Albany Plan of Union
  • We have to work together in order to win!!!
  • The Turning Point
  • William Penn
  • Prime Minister
  • In the mid 1700's, The British started showing interest in the Ohio River Valley. It was very rich in resources, therefore both The French and British believed they had a right to own this land. The French weren't good sharers, however they claimed the land by building a chain of forts from lake to lake. The British didn't just sit tight. They build forts in what is not present day Pennsylvania, unfortunately before The British could finish The French conquered the area.
  • The Fall of Quebec
  • In 1754, The British and French both wanted more Native American's to be in unison. The Algonquins were allies with The French. Benjamin Franklin spoke out to the colonists and said to merge together or there's a big possibility that they will die during the Revolutionary War. However if they don't fight or join together everyone will die and The French would take over.
  • The Treaty of Paris
  • The Turning Point came in 1757, when William Pitt became prime Minister, the leader of the British government. He was very smart minded and was also good at military planning. He sent British soldiers to stop colonial complaints and later on Pitt made the decision that The British would pay the cost of the war.
  • The Proclamation
  • In 1759, British Troops poorly guarded a path along the back of a cliff. Jams Wolfe's soldiers found out about the path and surprised the French guards and messed up the path. The British Troops had a plan and defeated the French army. Later The Fall of Quebec and of Montreal marked a defeat of France in North America.
  • The war in Europe ended with the Treaty of Paris of 1763. This treaty imposed France to give Canada and a big portion of their lands east of the Mississippi River to Great Britain. Great Britain also inherited Florida from France's ally, which was Spain. Spain obtained French lands west of the Mississippi River, which is present day Louisiana. That lead to North America being in the hands of two European powers, Great Britain and Spain.
  • The Proclamation of 1763 helped solve a problem with Native Americans. It also kept colonists in a place where the British could keep an eye on them. Colonists believed that Th Proclamation restricted their freedom, Therefore distrust began to form between the British and its American colonies.
