- Did you know that we are standing on water right now?
- What are you talking about we're standing on grass.
- I remember learning about that in science. Doesn't that have something to do with aquifers?
- I don't mean directly. There is water under the ground.
- It does, aquifers are the pockets of water under the ground.
- How much is down there?
- It depends on how much space is in between the rocks and how much rain we had recently. Since it rained a lot yesterday there should be a lot of water.
- Does anyone use it or does it just sit there?
- Some peoples homes use well water where they dig a hole down to the aquifers to use the water for there sink, showers,etc.
- If there is some much water down there then why don't people who have no water source just dig for it?
- Sometimes they do but they use it up so quickly it doesn't have enough time to be replenished. If people stopped using so much and let it replenish it would be fine and more people would be able to use it.
