- We are suffering with the inequality we are facing. Please let us hold higher positions, rise up the rank, and share the cost of taxes!.
- King Louis's response
- No! The status quo will stay as is. No changes will be made!

- King Louis the XVI calls for a meeting of the estate general for the first time in 175 years. He does this due to financial problem the country was facing as well as restlessness among the citizens in france.
- The tennis court
- We aren't leaving until we see the king!
- The estates come to the meeting with a list of grievances in hand, as instructed by the King. The third estate is being treated unfairly by the King and the other two estates hope that this meeting will change the status quo in France.
- Our declaration
- Declaration of the Rights of Man
- The King does not agree with the third estate's claim and keeps the status quo as it is. Their list of grievances was tossed aside, not given another glance.
- The March
- FIRE!
- The third estate, enraged at the King's verdict, gathered outside the palace where they took the tennis court oath. They vowed to meet at the tennis court outside the palace everyday until they were granted permission to see the king and have him instill a new constitution.
- After changing their name to the National Assembly, the third estate came together to create the "Declaration of the Rights of Man". They stated that men are born free with the rights of liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression.
- After King Louis rejects the "Declaration of the Right of Man" which enrages the third estate. After this defeat, the estate starts their march where over 800 Parisian go to storm the Bastille. The commander of the fortress refuses to open the gates and fires on the crowd, this only angers them more and the mob pushes forward eventually getting through the gates
