  • How Freud Sees Me
  • You are four years old, when will you stop chewing on things?
  • How Adler Sees Me
  • I bet I can do better than you!
  • How Bandura Sees Me
  • I really don't want to give this speech, I hope no one can tell how red my face is... I'm so nervous, I bet everyone thinks I'm weird because my face is so red...
  • One of Freud's psychosexual stages of development was the oral stage. In this stage, an infant between 0 and 18 months would chew and bite on things, and in this I am a child around 3-4 years old, still biting on a toy care. Freud would say that I was stuck in the oral stage, because I am much past 18 months old but still am biting on toys.
  • How Horney Sees Me
  • *Hysterical Crying*
  • Alfred Adler believed that the order in which children are born determines their personalities. Since I am the youngest child, Adler would say that I am constantly trying to outdo my older sister, so that I can feel superior to her and get more attention from my parents, especially in sports.
  • How Costa & McCrae See Me
  • The last time I went to Red Robin I didn't like it, but I'll give it another shot!
  • Hey Tyler, we're thinking about going to Red Robin tonight, want to come?
  • One of the principles studied by Albert Bandura was the spotlight effect. He would use the spotlight effect to explain this situation that I am currently experiencing. In this comic, my face is red because I am really nervous about a speech. I am overestimating the fact that everyone is noticing my red face and that they care that it is happening. That is the spotlight effect, overestimating the fact that others are taking notice.
  • How Eysenck Sees Me
  • ...Blah blah blah..
  • There's a bunch of people talking over there, but I don't really like meeting new people. I think I'll just sit down and do homework
  • One concept that Karen Horney studied was that childhood anxiety is derived from a need for love and security. In this, baby me is crying, in need of someone to give me attention so that I feel safe, loved, and secure. Baby me is crying because I am anxious that I have not gotten the sense of safety and security that I need.
  • Hon, the baby's crying again, can you please hold him so he stops?
  • Paul Costa and Robert McCrae were two psychologists who studied the big 5 factors that contribute to a one's personality. One of these factors is openness, the whether it's being open to trying new things or being open to talking to people. In this scenario I am being open to trying a restaurant in order to enjoy a social event with my friends, and I ended liking Red Robin. (True story, I go there all the time now)
  • Hans and Sybil Eysenck created 2 main dimensions for someone's personality: Introverted or Extraverted and Stable or Unstable. Looking at this situation, they would label me as an emotionally stable introvert. I am passive, avoiding conversation because I am not an outgoing person, but I also demonstrate calmness in my decision to go back to my desk, I did not let my introversion freak me out, I remained emotionally stable and went to my seat.
