  • MediaPolitical parties use media as a source of campaigning. With environmental policies there is the use of news outlets, which tend to have a biased portrayal, to promote their policies and get a reaction from the public. Republicans tend to advocate that environmental policies are a waste of taxpayer money, challenge the energy industry and take away land that is needed for agriculture. Democrats tend to advocate that environmental policies allow for more substantial and resilient communities and career opportunities.
  • Strategies of Political parties
  • Nominate CandidatesTo get the political party's goal accomplished, each of the parties will nominate a candidate that shares the same beliefs with them to represent them. The Democratic Party would choose a candidate that openly advocates for the implementation of environmental policies.
  • Strategies of Interest Groups
  • Political Parties- Represent broad policies- Primarily seek public office- Run Candidates/Campaigns-Direct Control
  • Differences Between Political Parties and Interest Groups
  • Interest Groups- Specialize in specific policies- Seek to influence policy- Influence Candidates- Indirect Influence-Lobbying
