- Rainsford found out that the mans name is Zaroff, General Zaroff, and he also found out that he created a game where new people on the island have to survive for three days in the jungle and if Zaroff finds them he kills them, in which they have lost the game. And zaroff wants him to play the game.
- Rainsford was hiding in a tree for the first day of the game and he figured out Zaroff was playing with him because he knew that Zaroff saw him in the tree.
- Rainsford won the game after he set up a trap for Zaroffs dogs and he ran to the shore of the island and swam to Zaroff's house and met him there to have a Talk
