- Anaya, Petra and Seth are kids which all go to a middle school on an island. Anaya has dark hair, she is also very allergic to almost anything. Petra is blond haired and has an allergy to water, she and Anaya were friends but Anaya betrayed her. Seth is teen with dark hair and was born with feathers on his arms.
- Then this black grass started appearing everywhere, and it was ruining Seth's adoptive parents' farm. So Seth and his dad set out to remove the weeds and tried to with regular garden tools, but that failed. Then they tried burning it down and it seemed like it worked, the smoke which the grass produced was poisonous. So Seth had to save his dad from dying and take him to the hospital. But Seth was not poisoned.
- In the soccer field near the school Anaya wants to collect soil to test if it stops the grass from growing. She meets Seth on the way there and he goes with Anaya eating the berries the plants grow. Petra who was already on the field gets swallowed by a plant which hid in the ground with Tereza. So Seth and Anaya try to save them by using a chainsaw.
- After that incident Anaya, Seth and Petra are taken by the government because they have extraordinary abilities. The pit plants which tried to swallow them produced sleeping gas and they also used a very strong acid which Anaya Seth and Petra weren't affected by. So the government wanted to test why to see why they weren't affected.
- When they get to the lab they get a checkup from doctor Weber and she notices weird traits which seem like they are from extraterrestrial origin. As Seth has sharp feathers growing of his shoulders. Anaya had claw like nails which were very strong. Petra grew reptile skin. Then after that they got a message from Anaya's dad about how he was stuck in the forest.
- When they flew after Anaya's dad vines started trying to pull down the helicopter. The two soliders which flew them to the forest died. Petra tried to save them all by finding a canoe and they rowed across the lake and found Anaya's dad and he said that the soil kills the plants.
