- The British realized they needed more men for their army, so they started recruiting Indian soldiers for their army.
- In the 1850, the British Army in India was made up of 200,000 Sepoys (mainly Hindus and Muslims) and 40,000 British.
- The sepoys weren't treated very well, they were the firsts to be sent to dangerous missions or places, and they felt they were pressured into converting to Christianity.
- The drop that spilled the glass was that with new guns being introduced a new cartridge also. The cartridge was covered in grease and it was rumored that it was pork and beef grease. The sepoys were angry and all started as a battle, and later became a war.
