- In this scene, Percy and Annabeth are talking about how they are half-human half-demi. Percy thinks at first that his dad is dead and he is normal and wants to go home. But Annabeth tells him that his dad is not dead and that he is a half-human half demi-god and how Percy can't go home because the camp was the only safe place for people like them. She talks about the different types of gods and how their kids have different powers based on their parents/gods. She also talks about how the types of parents/gods the kid has, attracts monsters to them.
- In this scene, Percy is talking to Luke about Lukes father and asking him some questions. Luke talks about his father and Percy asks if he has seen his father. Luke says that he has seen him once. He then says, "don't worry about it, Percy. The campers here, they'remostly good people. After all, we're extended family, right? We take care of each other." He made Percy feel better. Percy asked Luke a big question that has been stuk to him all afternoon, "Clarisse, from Ares, was joking about me being 'Big Three' material. Then Annabeth ... twice,she said I might be 'the one.' She said I should talk to the Oracle. What was that all about?" Luke tells him that he messed everything up for the other and you are not able to go on quests.
- In this scene, Percy is eating lunch and is doing something new. While Percy was going the eat his linch he saw a lot of people going to a campfire and putting half of their lunch in the fire. He asked Luke what was going on and Luke told Percy to follow him. As they got closer to the fire Luke said, "burnt offerings for the gods. They like the smell." Percy weirded out when to the fire and put half of his food in the fire and said, "whoever you are please tell me." After that he chout a sniff of it and it was not pleasant.
