  • Olivia. Cesario, my husband please do not bid me farewell.
  • Feste, the clown receives and reads the letter from Malvolio to Olivia, trying to prove his sanity but the clown will not allow Fabian to read it and he requests that Fabian has anything else he wants rather than to read the letter.
  • Sir Andrew is injured by Cesario, and Sebastian enters the picture.
  • Andrew. The Count's gentleman, one Cesario. (5.1.180)

  • Sebastian. I am sorry, madam, I have hurt your kinsman. (5.1.208-9)
  • Antonio is brought into the Duke and Cesario's presence. They both immediately recognize Antonio. The Duke recognizes Antonio from when he rebelled against him, taking his ship and cargo. And Cesario recognizes him from when Antonio dew his sword to protect him from Sir Toby.
  • The Duke requests to see Viola in her true form.
  • Before walking away, Cesario is called husband by Olivia, this creates a shock reaction for all the characters because Duke Orsino is angry with Cesario because he loves Olivia, Cesario never agreed to or married Olivia and Olivia is shocked that Cesario denies their marriage. This is when Olivia calls to priest to give a testimony of their marriage an he gives proof of their marriage.
  • Olivia read Malvolios letter and requests to see him.
  • Clown. My lady 'tis but a mad man.
  • Fabian. In this letter he speaks of your wrong doings against him, and how he shall reveal all.
  • Sir Andrew immediately enters the scene, injured and blaming Cesario for the matter. Everyone is confused as Cesario has been with them the whole time. Then Sebastian enters the scene apologizing for the violence against Sir Andrew, he explains it was merely self defence. The Duke takes notice to the resemblance between Cesario and Sebastian, This is where the twins realize their sibling is alive.
  • Olivia. Who has done this, Sir Andrew? (5.1.179)
  • After discovering that Cesario is Viola, the Duke requests to see her in her true form as a female. She says she does not have her clothing with her, and they request someone retrieve her women's weeds. The Duke then falls in love with Viola and proposes.
  • Duke. Let me see thee in thy woman's weeds. (5.1.273)
  • Olivia is in need of Malvolio and requests he be gotten but instead the clown, Feste pretends to read a letter in his hand to Olivia to convince her that Malvolio has gone mad. Olivia is not sold on his acting job and requests Fabian read it. Fabian reads it and it explains Malvolio's suffering due to the notorious wrong Olivia has played on him. Fabian also confesses to who was involved and what was done to him. Olivia then sends them to retrieve Malvolio.
