- FOLKTALE OF BATHALA
- In the beginning of time, there were three powerful gods who lived in the universe.BATHALA a caretaker of earth.ORPHANED SPIRIT a huge serpent who lived in the clouds.WANDERING SPIRIT a winged god who loves to travel.
- Bathala often dream of creating mortals but the empty earth stops him from doing so.While Orphaned Spirit was equally lonely as Bathala likes to visit places and earth is his most favorite place.One day the two gods met, but Orphaned Spirit was not pleased and challenged Bathala to a fight to decide who would be the ruler of the universe.
- I really want to make the earth happy with the mortals.

- I dare you!Fight with me!

- Bathala accepted the challenged, after three days Orphaned Spirit was slayed.Instead of giving him a proper burial Orphaned Spirit was burned.
- Die!!
- I will never let you rule my kingdom!
- A few years later, Wandering Spirit was wandered into Bathala's home.Bathala welcomed him with much kindness and even invited him to live with him in his kingdom.They become good friends and lived happily for many years.
- I was lost, and could not find my way back home. Can you help me?
- Of course! And you are welcome to live in my kingdom!
- Wandered Spirit become very ill. and instructed Bathala to bury him in the same spot where Orphaned Spirit burned.And he did exactly what he was told.
- Thank you fo welcoming me my friend. Please bury me in the same spot.
- Yes my friend I will.
- Good bye and thank you!
- Out of the grave of the two gods, a tall tree with a big round nut grew, which is the coconut tree.The nuts and the leaves like a wing remind him of his friend Wandered Spirit.And the trunk that was hard and rough like a snake skin reminds him his enemy Orphaned Spirit.
- And he created all the living things including human.
- This tree reminds my friend and enemy.
- I think I am ready to create living creatures.
- I am happy for my creation!
