  • Chapter 1
  • Chapter 2
  • Chapter 3
  • Man vs. Self. In chapter 1 we are introduced to Equality and we find out that he is committing the following 3 sins, he is by himself, writing, and thinking for himself. This is seen when Equality says, " It is a sin to write this" (Rand 6).
  • Chapter 4
  • Man vs. Society This chapter can be identified as man vs. society because Equality is dealing with the emotions that he feels after he sees and meets Liberty since they are not allowed to have emotions. This can be noticed when Equality says, "We have given them a name in our thoughts, we call them the Golden One" (Rand 11).
  • Chapter 5
  • Man vs. Society. Chapter 3 is all about Equality's want for knowledge. We learn that he would go to great lengths to learn and to spread it with others if he had the chance to. This is expressed when Equality says, " So much is still to be learned, so long a road lies before us, and what care if we must travel it alone!" (Rand 24)
  • Chapter 6
  • Man vs. Self. Chapter 4 is about Equality and Liberty dealing with their feelings for each other. An example is when Equality calls Liberty, "our dearest one" (Rand 25).
  • Man vs. Society. Chapter 5 is man vs. society because it is about Equality going and creating something that was made before the rebirth. This is a sin because the council does not want this to happen as it could cause society/ the world to fall again. An example is when Equality states at the beginning of chapter 5, " We brought it forth from the night of the ages" (Rand 27).
  • Man vs.Man. I believe that chapter 6 is man vs. man because it has Equality thinking about whether or not he is going to tell the Judges and the council where he was and what caused him to be late. This is seen when the Council of the Home asked Equality where he was and Equality says, "We will not tell you" (Rand 29).
