- Alexander, please stop writing on the board. I did not give you permission.
- *Alexander starts crying and Ms. Smith approaches to console him*
- Ms. Smith is feeling beaten by Alexander's behavior and thinks the reason why Alexander is acting out is because he wants power and control.
- Tomorrow we are going to do a lesson that involves journaling our feelings. Do you think you could be my assistant for it?
- Yes, I think that would make me less likely to want to have power over the whole class.
- I'm happy to hear that. You are a great role model for this class by offering to help with the lesson. I am also going to give you a class pass. Whenever you feel like you need a brain break, you can give me a signal and take a few minutes to journal.
