- The bus driver observed Jude at the bus's rest stop, "Too bad, those legs with that face. That skin. Jesus, he'd never seen a woman that black before" (Bennett 91). Although this description was harsh it still highlights Jude's most noticeable features. She is very dark-skinned with extremely long legs.
- What does Jude look like?
- Jude got a job at the Stardust Theater with Kennedy, Stella's daughter, Before each show, she met Kennedy in her dressing room and helped lift the big dress over her head. She did other little favors for her too: brought her hot water with lemon, fetched her sandwiches from a nearby diner, ran for Cokes from the lobby vending machine" (Bennett 265). This quote exemplifies the lengths Jude goes in her actions to find Stella. She is so determined by this that she has basically found herself working as Kennedy's assitant.
