- The British were broke from the war, so they needed money. They#160; decided to raise the taxes on the Americans. They were not happy about it.

- In 1773, A ship that carried over 10,000 dollars worth of Indian tea at the Boston harbor. A group of Boston people dressed up as Natives Americans climbed on the ship and dumped all the tea into the ocean.

- In 1775, When the battle took place at a hill that held up Boston. The British eventually won but lost a lot of soldiers. So technically the Americans won.
- France and the United States formed an alliance on February 6, 1778.#160;France sent its fleets to America but did not declare on Britain until June.
