- On September 1957, a group of nine black students that enrolled at previously all white Central High School in the Little Rock, Arkansas
- 3 years before they had arrived, the Supreme court V Brown case Little Rock School board promised to desegregate it's schools.

- September 2, 1957 the night before the nine's first day of school, governor Orval Faubus order Little Rock National Guard to block the entrance.
- Let them in and attend class
- September 4, 24 hours after a federal judge commanded to let the nine students attend classes right away, an angry mob and Little Rock's national guard blocked the entrance
- 16 days later the judge demanded the National guards be removed. The nine students were escorted by police into the school through a side door
- They attended only 3 hours of class and was sent home due to safety risk from the mobs.
- I shall federalize the National guard and sent in the U.S troops
- We must ensure the safety of these nine students
- Protected by the National guards and the Army's 101st Airborne, the nine students were able to go to class without problems and completed their first full day
- Even thought with many set backs with governor Faubus closing his school for a year because of desegregation rules.
- Ernest Green became the first African American senior to graduate from Little Rock Central High in Spring on May 27, 1958!!!!!
