  • Hello! You must be the new intern! My name is Dr. Smith and i'm a cell biologist here at *Name of Lab* Let me show you some of the wonders here!
  • If we look into our microscope here we will find an immune cell. They crawl in our bodies so they can find invading bacteria. The reason it moves like this is because of Actin found in the cytoskeleton
  • 1) Actin is also involved in a different type of movement. In our muscle cells, actin structures acts like these filaments.
  • 2) When our muscles contracts they pull together, and when we relax, they go back to their original position .
  • Well what about microtubules? I heard something about them but i would love to know more.
  • 3) Our roads are a bit different then the ones i'm talking about because usually these microtubules grow and shrink when needed. Then disappearing when all is finished.
  • 4) Motor proteins usually transfer huge cargo across these roads! I like to think of this as trucks on a road.
  • 2) Very Good question Intern! microtubules are responsible for long-range transportation in the cell!
  • Sometimes, our DNA ca carry sequences that can cause disease. Luckily, technology can re-frame the structure to prevent such things from happening!
  • 2) It's crazy how developed our technology has become!
  • 2) Thank you so much for your help today Intern! I'll see you tomorrow where we can continue talking and looking at cells!
  • Look at the time! we better put this microscope away because the lab will close soon!
