  • The Dutch were able to influence Indonesian foods, mainly incorporating the spices on this island to desserts, especially cakes. They were able to influence their baking techniques to us forming /creating our foods now.

  • Yes, exactly, both look and is served the same way.
  • The dutch has influenced the native Indonesians to consume bread and cakes regularly, especially bread. During colonisation period the nobles and high Indonesian leaders could consume it.
  • For the Dutch side it is using the coconut to be put inside the dough and the dough to be baked. It is the main part of the dish and you can taste the coconut ingredient in it.
  • So the similarities of both versions is the way it is served, when it is served, both containing layers and same colours in presentation.
