King Midas

- King Midas loved his money and shared it with his daughter. He loved gold coins and even bathed in them. Gold was his favourite thing.
- Silenus fell asleep while in the king's rose garden. The king recognised him and made him feel welcome. Silenus then gave King Midas a wish.
- King Midas had wished for everything he touched to become gold. Silenus asked him if he was sure as it was a risky wish but he asked and went to bed.
- King Midas wakes up and is delighted as when he touched his nightstand it became gold. He touch so many things nearly the whole castle was gold. He then ordered dinner with some roses. He went to smell the rose but it turned to gold and did not have a smell. His daughter then came into the dining room and king Midas without realising touched his daughter and turned her to gold.
- He then begged for forgiveness and because the gods were so kind and saw he was sorry for his actions they told him how to get rid of the wish. He was told that he had to wash his hands in the river Pactolus.
- He then gave all of his luxuries to his daughter and lived a simple life in a place far away so he could learn to be appreciative of all he had.
