- How it happened
- The giant wave
- Where did it hit?
- In the ocean there were 2 plates and one of them snapped and popped up. This created a new 40 foot cliff. This made an earthquake underwater and made giant waves.
- Everything is gone
- There were people having fun on the beach just relaxing. Then they see something giant coming closer and closer to them! It was a giant tsunami wave! Everyone started to panic and run away fro it!
- Rebuilding
- The tsunami waves hit where the red circle is on the map. So, Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Indonesia.
- Warnings
- The survivors had nothing. They're homes and everything was destroyed! Not just homes, villages and entire cities were gone! They had not food, water, or shelter.
- MY HOME!!
- People gave them materials to start rebuilding their homes and missionaries gave them bibles. Also, engineers came to help them build ans showed them better ways to build their homes just in case of another earthquake.
- When the tsunami came in the Indian Ocean had no warning system so nobody knew about it. They put in 26 information centers and 25 seismic centers. They also put up loud speakers and they made signs to put up for evacuation routes.
- Go away from beach to high ground
