- 7 teenage Bosnian Serb terrorists have sworn to kill the Archduke: Franz Ferdinand
- On June 28th, 1914, Franz Ferdinand was in a small caravan of cars going through the town Sarajevo

- The 7 teenagers were all placed along the intervals of the route and were all equipped with pistols and bombs, they also had poison which they promised to swallow if caught

- The first terrorist threw a bomb at the Archduke’s car. He missed and was arrested. The royal car decided to return home after this near miss, using a different route than had originally been planned.

- Nobody told the driver that the route had been changed. He drove down Franz Josef Street, which was on the original route. The driver realise his mistake and stopped the car to turn round. The car then stopped right in front of one of the terrorists: Gavrilo Princip. Princip pulled out his gun and fired a shot through Franz Ferdinand's neck After a tussle, Princip shot and killed Sophie. At 11:30am, the Archduke had bled to death.

- Even though I was sent to prison, I don't regret it. I did it for Serbia, for the people!
- Gavrilo Princip was not executed because he was under 20 years, but was sentenced to twenty years in prison. He died of TB in 1918. Many people believe this event was the trigger which set of a chain of events leading to the First World War. He died of TB in 1918.
