- This is a comic strip based on the novel The Outsiders by S. E. Hinton.
- We're going back to turn ourselves in.
- WHAT???
- Oh my god!
- The church is on fire!!!
- We started it. We started it. We started it!
- Stand back, children!
- Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dallas are at Dairy Queen. After devouring some burgers and banana splits, Dallas informs the group that Cherry, the Soc, has decided to be their spy. Johnny abruptly tells the group that he willing to turn himself in because Ponyboy and Cherry can testify that it was self-defence.
- We're going to get you out!
- Help!!!!
- We're gonna die!
- The group roars out of Dairy Queen, and they begin the journey back home in Dallas's car. Along the road, Dallas recounts his own experience in jail and tells Johnny that people get hardened there. When they reach the top of Jay Mountain, Dallas suddenly slams on the brakes after observing that the church is on fire.
- Are Johnny and Dally alright?
- WEE WOO WEE WOO WEE WOO...
- Ponyboy... Where have you been? I couldn't stand it if anything happened to you.
- Dallas orders Johnny and Ponyboy to stay in the car, but they were already running towards the church. One of the adults nearby tells Ponyboy that the fire started while they were having a picnic. Suddenly, they hear someone yelling from the inside of the church. Without hesitation, Ponyboy and Johnny run to the church in the hopes of saving the victims.
- D...arry? So...da?
- Slamming a big rock through a window, Ponyboy pulls himself into the church. He suddenly realizes that Johnny was following him the entire time. The two teenagers find the little kids huddled in a corner. Courageously, they risk their own life by saving the children from the church that was about to collapse any second.
- Ponyboy wakes up and finds himself in an ambulance. One of the school teachers named Jerry, informs Ponyboy that he passed out and that his two friends are in the ambulance behind them. Along the way to the hospital, Ponyboy bombards Jerry with questions about the current state of his gang members.
- After arriving at the hospital, Ponyboy is checked over by the doctor. He then has a brief conversation with Jerry, who announces that his brothers have come to see him. Ponyboy couldn't believe his eyes. Darry apologizes for slapping him, and Ponyboy realizes that Darry cares deeply about him.
