- Ponyboy was out at the drive-in to watch a film without anyone else. While he was returning, he experienced a couple of socs. The socs danger Ponyboy that they'll trim his hair, however, the socs wind up cutting him with the switch-blade they pulled out. Fortunately for Pony, the gang showed up and helped him in the circumstance
- Bob drowns Ponyboy in the fountain (chapter 4)
- Dally, Johnny, and Ponyboy choose to go to the drive-in towatch a film where they experience two young ladies. Dally looked at them and continued to stroll down the passageway and sat right behind them. He was up to his typical stunts. He was talking really clearly, he got going awful, and it just got most horrendously terrible. Johnny advises Dally to quit troubling them, and unexpectedly he did.
- Johnny kills Bob (chapter 4)
- Ponyboy gets late from the drive-in since he and johnny dosed off. Because of this, Darry is enraged and breaks out an argument between both the siblings. He incidentally slaps Pony, this was an astonishment since nobody in their family has done as such. Seemingly out of the blue, Ponyboy decides to flee from home. Alongside himself, he hauls Johnny alongside him, and Johnny decides to come.
- After Ponyboy runs away from home alongside Johnny, they meet socs. Ponyboy and a soc Bob started somewhat of a verbal conflict, each insulting the others identities. This conflict leads to Bob drowning Ponyboy, and this leads to even bigger consequences.
- Ponyboy and Johnny find themselves at a park after fleeing from home. There they are welcomed by a group of socs that look very alcoholic. Ponyboy gets assaulted by Bob, who is one of the socs. Bob drowned Pony, so Johnny ended up stabbing him, in self-defense. Pony wakes up to see Bob dead under the moonlight and Johnny’s switchblade red to till the hilt.
