Storyboard Descripción

A type of nuclear division that results in formation of cells!

Texto del Guión Gráfico

  • PROPHASE 1
  • Oh no the CHROMATIN has CONDENSED! I'm so sad I could BREAKDOWN!
  • Chromosome... I think we should be a Homologous Pair
  • (Crossing over...)
  • Think the cat is wrapping around the dog!
  • MEOW!
  • WOOF!
  • METAPHASE 1
  • We're now attached along the equator of spindle!
  • -Chromatin condense & chromosome supercoils-Nuclear Envelope breaks down-Chromosomes come together in homologous pairs
  • ANAPHASE 1
  • Why did the motor protein have to pull us apart...
  • -CROSSING OVER occurs when NON-SISTER chromatids WRAP AROUND eachother & may SWAP SECTIONS so ALLELES SHUFFLE
  • TELOPHASE 1
  • -Homologous chromosomes attach along equator of spindle by centromere (way they line up determines how they'll segregate independently when pulled apart in Anaphase)
  • REMEMBER TAMZIN:
  • Remember that this is the first stage of Meiosis: MEIOTIC DIVISION!
  • -Members of homologous chromosomes pulled apart by motor proteins(cross over areas separate from eachother= swapped areas of chromosome & allele shuffling)
  • -EACH NEW NUCLEUS CONTAINS HALF ORIGINAL NUMBER OF CHROMOSOMES!
  • Hi, I'm NUCLEUS! I'm the NEW addition to my family. I'm like HALF my mum & HALF my dad
  • Remember the definition:HOMOLOGOUS CHROMOSOMES- matching chromosomes containing same genes at same places
