- Settlers had lot's of jobs including farming, fishing, and printing. These jobs were popular in different regions. In the New England colonies, fishing and whaling were very popular jobs. In the Middle Colonies, printing was one of the jobs. The Southern Colonies were great for farming because they had great farmland.

- The settlers lived in the 13 colonies. Here, they could find jobs and work to earn money for the family. Farmers grew Tobacco and sold it to earn money. The New England Colonies are in orange. The Middle Colonies are in purple. The Southern Colonies are in light blue.
- Slaves
- Natural resources are one of the most important things to settlers. Here are just a few: tobacco, wheat, and plant material. They use wheat to make bread. They use tobacco to make money by selling it to other people. They use plant material for different things like weaving.
- Slaves
- Slaves are possibly the worst thing that could ever happen to humans. Lots of West Africans were affected and removed from Africa in chains. If the so called slaves didn't eat, they would be punished. Many of them would end of dying or suffering.
- Many died because of the lack of food that was given to them. Other times it was because they couldn't survive the heat and the heavy loads on there back and in there hands. This was a very sad time for many West Africans. This must have been painful, too.
- The slaves were forced to work a lot without much food and water. Sometimes, they would sell the slaves for money or trade them for other riches. In getting more riches, this allowed them to stand out and be more powerful than the other. They shouldn't have been trying to be more powerful than the other because in reality, God is the most powerful of all.
