  • I will find Huck. I don't want much, but I WILL NOT stand such treatment.
  • Where is that briefcase. Also, I must not forget to bring something for Huck.
  • Perfect. Aunt Polly won't notice till the morning, giving me 5 hours to search for Huck.
  • At last, the end of the school day had come. Tom laid on his bed and began to skim over his Bible. In it, he found the phrase, "Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has born of God and knows God." This phrase left Tom pondering about the unfair treatment he felt by Aunt Polly versus to Sid. He decided he had enough, and that he would run away from home.
  • What Tom? I'm tryna sleep.
  • Huck..cold..talk..
  • Alas night struck, and Tom was off. Putting aside a few clothes and his bible, he wondered why Aunt Polly wouldn't love him the same. The work she wanted done would always get done. He also began to think of the right time to leave. He already had supper, so now he would just need to wait till everyone went to bed.
  • Your gon get a real bad whooping for this
  • Thank you Lord for the jacket.
  • Tom tentatively trotted out of his room and down the creaky wooden stairs, careful of not waking his Aunt and Sid. He nudged the door and stepped into the bitter cold. He flooded his mind with the destination as to not succumb to his epiphany.
  • What on EARTH are you doing with that no good vagabond! You best expect the porch needs some paint THIS SATURDAY!
  • Tom stumbled through the streets until he came across a small wood bench that carried Huck. He was snoring and was cold as snow. Tom realized quickly that he had made a mistake in wearing a tee to bed, as the icy wind brushed up against his arms and in his shirt. Tom attempted to talk, but couldn't mutter but a few words.
  • Suddenly, he heard a zipper. Before he knew it, he was in a warm jacket. He felt so calm, so warm, and at peace. He felt like he was at home again, in his bed, and Aunt Polly tucking him into his sheets, and dozing off under his wool blankets.
  • In the blink of an eye, Huck had scurried off, and Tom felt a sharp tug at his ear with a yell. He slowly opened his eyes to a fuzz, but things cleared up immediately after he saw his Aunt Polly livid and shouting at him.
