- Arachne boasted all day long that she was the best weaver in the world and that she would compete against Athena .Athena came to her disguised as an old lady and told Arachne to beg Athena for forgiveness.
- Arachne says that she’ll never beg for forgiveness and that if Athena dares she could come here and compete against me.

- The old lady turns into Athena and soon the weaving competition started . Both the contestants were doing really well.
- Athena was weaving the Parthenon and her contest with the god Poseidon .Archane was making fun of gods full of weakness and fears .
- Arachne ‘s work was not beautiful because she was showing disregard of the gods. When Athena saw she become very offended . She then said you can weave forever!so she turned Arachne into a ugly and small creature now known as the spider. Since then the spider is cursed to be trapped inside her own web weaving constantly and endlessly .
