- Chapter 1
- I don't trust him. He might be the gold thief!
- This wine is for Gebu.

- Chapter 4
- Ranofer lived in Egypt with his half brother Gebu, who is not nice to him. While working in a goldsmith shop, Ranofer is visited by Ibni and he doesn't trust him. Ranofer finds out that gold is being stolen from the goldsmith shop and he is scared because he thinks that Ibni might be stealing the gold.
- Chapter 5
- You want to sell papyrus! Haha!!!
- Ranofer finds out that Gebu is helpign Ibni the gold. Ranofer thinks he will be blamed for helping him. Ranofer wants to run away.
- Chapter 6
- I wish I could just run away!
- You will work for me in the stone cutting shop and will be an apprentice!
- Ranofer tells Imni Gibu does not want the wine. Rehk lets Ranofer make gold leaves and is excited because he wants to show his skills. He makes a good friend named Heqet.
- Chapter 7
- I can take care of myself!
- But you need food!
- Ranofer has a good idea that he thinks his father's Ba has given him. Ranofer tells Heqet about the gold leaves and wants him to tell Rehk. Ibni gives Ranofer the wine so they have to wait to tell Rehk.
- I know, Heqet can tell Rehk about the gold thief!
- Ranofer saw Heqek whisphering to Rehk about the gold leaves. Ranofer wonders if he could make mud bricks and build a house out of them, get a donkey and sell papyrus so that he won't have to live with Gebu anymore. Gebu laughts at Ranofer's plan to sell papyrus.
- Gebu makes him be an apprentice at the stone cutting shop. One of the men working at the shop has his fingers cuit off from stone cutting. Ranofer misses Heqet and wants to run away.
- Ranofer went to the gold shop on his break at work. Ranofer and Heqet decide they will feet at the fish market. Ranofer and Heqet fight because Heqet wants to share food with Ranofer because he knows he doesn't have enough, but Ranofer wants to be able to take care of himself. They make up.
- Chapter 8
- Wow! Really! I would love to!
- You can come with me to get a tool from Zau.
- Chapter 9
- Gebu must be stealing again! He's always out at night and acting suspicious!

- Chapter 11
- Heqet tells Ranofer he can come with him to get a tool. Ranofer remembers Zau, the greatest goldsmith in Egypt, and Zau remembers him. Zau tells him he can be a pupil for free, but Ranofer knows that Gebu won't let him.
- Chapter 12
- Gebu beats Ranofer. Ranofer thinks Gebu is stealing again. Ranofer, Heqet and the Ancient (an old man who is their friend) decide they will spy on Gebu.
- Chapter 13
- Ranofer messes up the clay seal on the door of Gebu's room. He has to think fast so he takes the some dry clay and gets it wet to fix the seal on Gebu's door. When Gebu comes home he is too drunk to notice the seal and Ranofer is okay.
- Chapter 14
- Gebu takes the golden goblet that Ranofer finds in Gebu rooms that has the name of an old Pharoah who is dead on it. Ranofer realizes that Gebu is robbing the tombs. Ranofer does not tell Heqet and the Ancient about the goblet. Ranofer knows that when the hinges squeak, Gebu is stealing.
- Chapter 15
- Ranofer won't tell anyone about the goblet.heqet thinks that the little room on gebus scrool is for storing gold. Heqet notices Ranofer is acting differently.
- Why are you not acting normal?
- Wenamon, Gebu's friend who is a thief, looks for people following them, but does not see Ranofer. Ranofer found an entrance into the tomb. Gebu has planned to make a secret tunnel in to the pharoah's store room.
- Heqet and the Ancietnt think Ranofer may have gone in to the tomb. Ranofer realizes this is the tomb of Queen Tiy's parents who have died. Ranofer knocks over a vase and he hides behind the coffins.
- Oh no! I better hide!
- Heqet and the Ancient see Ranofer running from the tomb. Ranofter is going to fetch Zau, but he is not at his house. Ranofer is caught trying to tell the royalty on the palace grounds about Gebu and Wenamon trying to steal from the tomb.

- Ranofer gets to see Queen Tiy and she knows he is telling the truth. Count Zobeck sent guards to find the goblet. The Queen gives Ranofer a donkey, Ranofer is going to be an apprentice to Zau and the Queen is going to buy the first necklace Ranofer makes.
